Authorities evacuated two YMCA branches in Park Slope Wednesday after receiving a racist bomb threat directed at Mayor Bill de Blasio — who routinely exercises at the Ninth Street Y — according police.
The Park Slope Armory branch — located at 361 15th St., between Seventh and Eighth avenues — received the ominous call at around 7:30 a.m. on July 24, police said.
The threatening female caller said she was going to “blow up the Brooklyn YMCA because that’s where Mayor de Blasio goes and he likes black people and is running for president,” according to cops.
Because de Blasio actually frequents the Ninth Street branch, police decided to evacuate both buildings, cops said.
Authorities found no explosive devices at either location, which were both cleared for re-entry, according to police.
Hizzoner remained undaunted by the threat and proceeded to his daily workout, according to City Hall spokesman Freddi Goldstein.
“The mayor is thankful every day for the NYPD for keeping our city safe and yesterday was no exception,” said Goldstein.
