A 40-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash Monday night on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, according to authorities.
Ramon Aguilar Jr. was driving on the eastbound side of the highway near Atlantic Avenue when he struck the highway’s concrete curb at 11:53 p.m. on June 8, cops said.
The collision threw Aguilar off of his 2010 Yamaha R1 motorcycle and onto the road’s grass shoulder, police said. Paramedics rushed the man to NYU Lagone Cobble Hill Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Aguilar’s death marks the third motorcyclist fatality in Brooklyn since June 25, when 33-year-old Queens resident Andrew Vasapoli perished following a collision in Canarsie, according to police.
More than 25 drivers and motorcyclists have died in collisions this year, city data reports.
