A Sunset Park cyclist died on Wednesday after a passing box truck struck him in Borough Park.

Pedro Tepozteco, 26, was riding his bike on 47th Street at 5:30 p.m., when cops say he “fell into the truck” as it attempted to pass him near the intersection of 17th Ave. The cyclist was hit by the truck’s passenger-side rear tires, according to authorities.

Paramedics rushed Tepozteco to Maimonides Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead.

The 29-year-old truck driver remained on the scene, police say, and no charges were immediately filed. The investigation is ongoing.

How does one 'fall into a truck'. Is that the same as pedestrians with the right of way in a cross walk falling into a truck ?

Peddle Pushers rarely drive safely or carefully. Of course if they just rode on the sidewalks where they think they should be, this accident would never have happened Pedestrians first!!

Joe from Greenpont says:
Make congestion worse with bike lanes and this sort of thing is going to happen more frequently. Get rid of the vehicles and keep taxing congestion and city goes broke. NYC is screwed. I hope the driver was an illegal so that he can stay out of jail and avoid deportation because that's what makes NYC so vibrant. LOL

Poor old Joe from Greenpoint, I'll take great comfort knowing he'll die soon and his family will fight over his squandered savings. I think I'll take my dog to his grave so she can relieve herself.
