Police are asking the public to help them identify a man who tried to kidnap a 3-year-old boy right from under his grandmother’s nose outside an 86th Street supermarket in Bath Beach on May 7.

The attempted kidnapping occurred between Bay 31st and Bay 32nd streets just after 3:45 pm, when the man approached the boy in his stroller and suddenly began pushing it down the street, away from his grandmother. The woman quickly gave chase when she realized what was happening, and when she caught up with the perp, he fled on 86th Street towards Bay Parkway, police said.
