Million-dollar sandwich

A punk stole a chicken sandwich from a Coney Island Avenue bagel store on April 6, police said.

The employee told police the baddie ordered the sandwich from the bodega near Avenue Z at 5 am, but then said he didn’t have enough money to pay for it. Instead, the jerk grabbed the sandwich from the counter and sat down in the front of the store, officials said.

When the worker took the sandwich back and asked if the man was going to pay for it, the malefactor punched the employee in the face and neck and ran out of the store with the sandwich and bottle of iced tea, according to authorities.

Sneak thief

Two criminals stole thousands of dollars worth of cellphones from an Avenue U store on April 3, police said.

One of the crooks distracted an employee in the store near Ocean Avenue while the other rummaged through a back room, grabbing $17,500 worth of phones and putting them in a black laundry bag at about 10:30 am, according to authorities.

The worker tried to keep the jerks in the store by pushing the door closed, but one of the punks overpowered him and they both fled in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, officials said.

Playground bully

Cops cuffed a 21-year-old man for socking his 16-year-old friend in the face and stealing his phone in a Homecrest Avenue playground on April 7.

The suspect punched the teen, causing swelling on his left cheek, in the playground near Shore Parkway at about 6:30 pm, according to authorities. The suspect also grabbed the teen’s cellphone, which had fallen out of his pocket, along with $10 cash, officials said.

Phantom robber

Some sneak stole a woman’s jewelry and cash from her Avenue V apartment on April 4, police said.

The woman told police she returned to her home near Batchelder Street at about 11 pm to find the apartment door was open and her Michael Kors watch, metal earrings, and pink pendant necklace, along with $150, were gone.

The woman also told police that authorities had called her earlier that night saying they were going to take down her door to verify a missing child was not in her apartment, officials said.

Caught red-handed

Police arrested a guy for stealing two backpacks from an apartment under construction on Ocean Avenue on April 5.

The man entered the apartment near Quentin Road at about 3:30 pm and grabbed two backpacks with a cellphone, pair of pants, MetroCard, sweatshirt, and $200 inside, according to authorities. Police also recovered glassine envelopes of heroin on the suspect, officials said.
