Bernie makes his pitch on the Boardwalk
Yo, Brooklyn!: Bernie played up his borough bona fides before launching into his stump. “It’s beautiful to be back,” said Sanders, who grew up in Midwood and moved to Vermont in college. “We used to go swimming here. I probably ate half the hotdogs that Nathan’s has made.”
Shear support: Fort Greene artist Soaw Nyce cut and dyed his hair to look like Sanders. “It came to me in a dream,” he said. “I’m for Bernie, so I decide to become Bernie.”
Is that Karl Marx? Nope! It’s just former REM frontman Michael Stipe rocking a serious beard as he stumps for the Democratic Socialist Sanders.
Parachute stump: Sanders rallied ion the Boardwalk with the Parachute Jump in the background.
Emotional rollercoaster: A woman feinted (and recovered) during Sanders’s speech.
Fugheddaboudit!: These Brooklynites definitely aren’t voting for Sanders.
