Officials: Williamsburg officer arrested for sex crimes

Police arrested a 43-year-old Williamsburg resident and NYPD sergeant Wednesday in his apartment on numerous sex abuse related charges, including the rape of a 15-year-old girl.

Police arrested Sgt. Joel Doseau at his Williamsburg apartment around 8 am Wednesday morning and was indicted later that day. According to King’s County District Attorney spokesperson, a grand jury indicted him on 40 charges, including rape, sexual misconduct, sexual abuse, and promoting sexual performing of a minor.

The indictment also stated that Doseau was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship, starting in 2008, with a then 15-year-old girl. He was released on $100,000 bail and is awaiting trail on Oct. 8.
