Cops are looking for a man who beat and attempted to rape a woman after following her into her Williamsburg apartment building.

The fiend followed the 36-year-old victim into her S. Third Street and Bedford Avenue apartment at 11:55 pm on March 25, police said. He stalked her up the stairs to the third floor, punched her, and then tried to rape her, but the woman fought back and the attacker ran away, authorities said.

Police describe the suspect as a black male between 25 and 35 years old who is 6-foot-2 tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket that said “Lincoln St. Mary’s Council 112” in yellow lettering, cops said.

Law enforcement officials are asking people with information about the man’s identity to call (800) 577–8477, submit tips at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text-message them to 274637, then enter “TIP577.”

Reach reporter Danielle Furfaro at dfurfaro@cnglocal.com or by calling (718) 260–2511. Follow her at twitter.com/DanielleFurfaro.

Reasonable discourse

Let's hope they find this character. I'll be sure to keep an eye out myself. As we know, raping is a terrible thing. Please keep your eyes peeled (not literally).

Another graduate of NYCs catch and release program. I dare a reporter from this site to look into and write a report on his history then compare the time he should have gotten to the time he did get. I bet this lady like so many others would not have been a victim had he not gotten sweet deals. He picked the wrong color victim this time, he's going away for a LONG time now!

This is possible but we can't make any real judgments until all of the facts are in.
I'm working on this, as we chat so enjoyably.

Really , you mean like the bogus " HANDS UP " —— that turned out to be a police officer trying to save his life against a THUG, that just ripped of a convenient store and was twice the size of the racist cop ??
What a @ucking load ...why does the cop not have his job back ???
