Police are looking for three men in connection with an Aug. 15 shooting in Fort Greene.

A surveillance video shows one of the suspects handing a gun to another suspect, then walking into a building at Clermont and DeKalb avenues with the third suspect at 1:50 am, police said. A 47-year-old man came out of the building a few minutes later and headed to his car, according to a police report. The suspect who was still outside approached and let off multiple shots, hitting the victim once in the buttocks, cops stated.

All three suspects then fled the scene, one in a dark-colored Jeep, and two in a light-colored sedan, per an NYPD account. Paramedics took the victim to Brooklyn Hospital Center in stable condition, officers said.

Police ask those with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477, go to, or text-message tips to 274637 and enter “TIP577.”

You gentries love ft greene so much well this what is what you gotta deal with, muggings & all. Dont like it then you already know to do, dont let the door knob hit you.

Jim from Ditmas Park says:
No, jjm. Violent crime is not "what you gotta deal with." Just idiot "locals" that romanticize the bad ol' days and dream about getting shot have thoughts like yours. Rational people actually don't think crime is something you "gotta deal with."

jjm from c. hill says:
@Jim, well its not the locals' fault that ft greene has gotten wealthy over the years. The newcomers are moving targets for muggings because the locals are smart enough to know wherever there's gentries, there's money.

Nope says:
The 'locals' were shooting at each other, as they have for years. Jjm doesn't seem to understand that crime has actually decreased during gentrification as the types of locals that commit these kinds of crimes are gradually being displaced. Most locals appreciate this since they themselves were almost always the victims back in the bad old days when crime rates were 10x what they are now.

So, in jjm's world "Locals" = violent criminal looking to mug "newcomers." That's nice.

jim from flatbush - these are alternative sustainable business plans - going where the money is - not fair to discourage a free market. Personally about 35 years ago a brother tied to take my guitar off me at the church ave station and he got a whooping - never a problem since.
