A couple of teenage ill-doers robbed a man on Lafayette Avenue on Jan. 8.

The victim told cops that he was at St. Felix Street at 4:30 pm when the crooks approached him. One of them asked, “What’s in the box?” then followed up by asking him what was in his pocket.

The teenager went into his pocket, took out his wallet, and stole $15, police said.

Face time

A pack of men attacked a woman on Washington Avenue on Jan. 9, and ran off with her phone.

The 29-year-old woman said she was between Gates and Greene avenues at 10:15 pm and as she walked through a pack of men, one of them hit her in the face, knocking her to the ground. The men took her iPhone and fled.

Quick phoner

A knife-wielding bandit stole a teenager’s cellphone on Atlantic Avenue on Jan. 10.

The 16-year-old victim told cops he was at Cumberland Street at 7:20 pm when he was approached by three men. One of them took out a knife and took his smartphone.

Wrong headed

Two crooks took a pair of headphones from a woman on Washington Avenue on Jan. 12.

The 25-year-old victim told cops she was at Willoughby Avenue at 11:35 pm when the duo approached her, and one of them took her headphones. After she gave chase, they turned around and ran at her, making threatening motions before fleeing.

Police arrested two people who tried to rob a man on Waverly Avenue on Jan. 12.

The 38-year-old victim told cops he was between Myrtle and Willoughby avenues at 11:20 pm when the two approached him and said, “Stop and give me all your money.”

The victim started to scream for help, and the crooks began to punch hm, cops said. After the victim started fighting back, the two fled without getting any money out of the man.

Tile riled

An identity thief stole merchandise from a materials depot on Steuben Street back on Nov. 26.

The victim told cops that a man called and placed an order with the business between Flushing Avenue and Williamsburg Place for 2,000 tiles at 1:55 pm, and faxed over some credit card information.

After the materials were delivered, the victim was informed by the credit card company that the credit card was used fraudulently.

Helping a friend

A crook robbed an elderly woman on Greene Avenue on Jan. 12.

The 67-year-old victim told cops she was getting the mail from the front of her house at Cambridge Place at 2:09 pm when a stranger walked up to her and asked, “Are you alright?” before going through her pocket and taking $10.


A purse-snatcher took a woman’s handbag on Clermont Avenue on Jan. 13.

The 65-year-old woman was walking at Willoughby Avenue at 6 pm when a man took her purse and ran away.


Two crooks pilfered an iPhone at the Clinton-Washington train station on Jan. 13.

The 23-year-old victim told cops she was riding the C train at 6:40 pm when two men came up to her and took her iPhone. She chased them out of the train at Fulton Street and to Atlantic Avenue, where she lost sight of the swift criminals.
