The Cyclones will need to wait one more day to avenge the team’s Opening Night loss to the hated Staten Island Yankees.

Inclement weather conditions ruined the home opener for the Clones, and officials canceled the game after a more than two hours delay.

The Cyclones lost to the Yankees 2-1 in Monday’s opener, only hours after a powerful thunderstorm had left the area.

The teams will play again in Staten Island tonight at 7:00, as Brooklyn searches for its first win of the season.

The Cyclones will make their official home debut on Thursday against the not-so-hated Aberdeen IronBirds. First pitch will be around 7 pm.

Reasonable discourse

TAMMY from PARK SLOPE says:
Once I saw rain last night I knew that this game was not going to be played. I called the Cyclones at 6:50pm to see if the game was officially rained out & to see when the game would be made up but they said that the game was still scheduled to be played at 7pm. I called again at 8:15pm for a status report and they said that they were going to play the game. I check the website at 9:15pm and it said rainout. I knew not to even bother going but I heard of some idiots standing outside the gate for hours. I am surprised that it took 2 hours to call a rainout. I feel that the Cyclones staff needs to be more forright with their rainouts. I guess they didn't want to call a rainout till most of the food was sold. I guess the Cyclones had to make money somehow to recover from the hurricane last October. All NY area stadiums needs domes on them so that rainouts are a thing of the past.

PAUL from RED HOOK says:
Tammy: Yeah I work in the area and I saw a group of idiots lining up for a 7pm game on my lunch break at 2pm. To me when I go I am there about maybe 10-15 minutes before start time sometimes after. Once in a while I might get there when the gate opens I beleive around 5:30pm for a 7pm game if I leave work early and see batting practice. No way I even waste my time waiting with the idiots before that. When I see rain then forget it. That is why I buy my tickets during game day or maybe the day before assuming the weather is ok.
