Double trouble

Two thefts occurred at a Hoyt Street department store on May 20.

• Someone stole a woman’s wallet while she was shopping at the retailer.

• At the same department store, a lingerie-loving crook tried to steal $1,110 worth of underwear on May 20, police claim.

Shady contractors stole a wedding ring and an expensive digital camera from a Main Street apartment on May 21, police said.

The resident told cops she gave permission for these contractors to be in her home near Water Street and repair her entryway at 8:30 am. When she returned at 5:30 pm, her ring and camera were missing.

Was it covered?

Someone stole a laptop from a Main Street insurer’s office at some point between May 16 and May 22, police said.

A worker told cops she left the computer on her desk, in the office near Front Street, at 9:30 am on May 16. When she came back at 11 am on May 22, it was gone.

Mug shot

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman who they say attacked someone in a restaurant on Atlantic Avenue on May 22.

After a verbal fight at the eatery at 12:45 am, the woman punched the victim in the face and hit her over the head with a coffee mug, cops said. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Beep creep

Three unknown people broke into the borough president’s office on Joralemon Street on May 22, police said.
