The Brooklyn Aviators torpedoed the top-ranked 1,000 Islands Privateers chances for a victory on Saturday, defeating the Alexandria Bay flyers 6-3.

The Privateers were first to score at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Floyd Bennett Field, but Brooklyn hit the ice ready for battle in the second session — scoring four goals in 20 minutes of play and blowing the 1,000 Islands 1-0 lead into smithereens.

But the 1,000 Islands refused to run up the white flag: they netted two more goals in the third — points that Brooklyn centers Matt Atsoff and Jesse Felten easily met, giving the Aviators the win and Felten his second goal of the night.

Saturday marked the second time that the Aviators went to war against the second place Privateers — and won. The two teams met at Floyd Bennett Field just before the Thanksgiving, with Brooklyn hammering the upstate scallywags 5-2.

The Brooklyn Aviators will be home to take on the New Jersey Outlaws at Aviator Sports [3159 Flatbush Ave. in Floyd Bennett Field in Marine Park, (718) 758-7580] Dec. 9 at 7:35 pm. Tickets $12 ($10 for seniors and children under 14) For information, visit
