“Who needs the Weekender? I can just stay in and watch NY1 on loop for 72 hours, right?” Wrong! Nothing makes the Weekender angrier than negativity — and you won’t like the Weekender when he’s angry. So check out this weekend’s listings, and spare yourself some wrath.

• It’s a Bushwick meat-fest! “The BBQ to end them all” is returning for its third year at 3rd Ward on Saturday, featuring appearances by celebrity chefs, chocolate sculptures, and, of course, as much saucy, slathered spare ribs as you can stomach.

• Or, for any of you less accustomed to devouring whole pigs, treat yourself to more delicate summer fare this Saturday at Kelso Brewery in Clinton Hill, where the creative minds behind Brooklyn’s most innovative franks will be hocking their wares and vying for top dog.

• Swing into Downtown this Saturday, where the borough’s newest artisinal market will be staging its grand opening. Look out, Smorgasburg: the DeKalb Market guys have craft pickles and warm, gooey cupcakes.

• Missed last weekend’s Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival? (Tsk, tsk.) No matter: Bedford-Stuyvesant will set you up, but good, when rising star Theophilus London rocks the stage at the Weeksville Heritage Center on Saturday.

• Speaking of hip-hop, stop by Red Hook’s Jalopy this Sunday for some bona fide American roots music. No, not “The Roots” — bluegrass, country, and swingin’ forays into jazz’s early days from the Union Street Preservation Society.

• Between new appetizing stores and knish-making workshops, Brooklyn’s undergoing a delicatessen renaissance! Take a number at this latest installment in the saga — a new Bay Ridge joint where the tuna salad’s fresher than the house-made black-and-white cookies.

And as always, these and other great events are in our exclusive family calendar, our great nightlife calendar, and our matchless events calendar.
