Wallet stolen

Some creep stole a woman’s cash and credit cards right off the counter at a store on Fifth Avenue on Aug. 21.

The woman told cops that she left her wallet — which contained $800, a credit card, and two Social Security cards — on the counter after making a purchase in the store, which is between 14th and 15th streets at 6:45 pm.

She returned 10 minutes later, but everything was gone. Police later recovered the wallet, but it was empty.

Golden egg

A group of thugs forced its way into Chickadee Chick restaurant on Seventh Avenue and made off with the cash register filled with a cool $400 on Aug. 21.

The victim told cops that he saw the goons bust through the front door of the fast food joint near First Street at 11 pm, grab the register, then flee the same way they came. No arrests have been made.

Some perps broke into Anthony’s on Seventh Avenue and made off with cash on Aug. 19.

The victim told cops that he rushed to the always excellent pizzeria, which is near 14th Street, after the alarm went off around 3 am. When he arrived, he found that the lock was busted and $500 was missing.

Not again

Banditos broke into El Pollito Mexicano on Fifth Avenue and made off with a cash register overnight on Aug 18.

An employee said that when he opened the restaurant, near Sterling Place, at 7:30 am, he found the lock broken and a register that had contained $100 gone.

This is the second time the restaurant has been burgled, he said.

Stealthy snag

Some jerks stole two laptops from a President Street home on Aug. 18.

The resident told cops that she returned from work at 7:30 pm to find that two laptops were missing from the living room in the unit, which is between Fifth and Sixth avenues. There was no sign of forced entry.

Hi-fi heist

A tech-craving goon stole some monitors and cameras from a business on Eighth Street on Aug. 17.

A man told cops that he left the business between Second and Third avenues to play basketball and locked the front door at 8:50 pm. When he returned an hour and a half later, the door was unlocked and the booty was gone.

Wheel bad

Thieves stole at least two cars last week:

• Some jerk stole a BMW from 14th Street near Sixth Avenue overnight on Aug. 17. The victim returned at 8 am and noticed the car was missing.

A carjacker stole a Subaru Legacy from quiet Montgomery Place near Prospect Park West overnight on Aug. 18.

Reasonable discourse

Betty from Park Slope says:
What happened with the SUV that was parked on 14th between 8th Ave and PPW last Thursday? I looked like the vehicle had caught fire. Some residents on the block told me that police and fire trucks were there at 3 a.m.
