Muckdogs 0

Cyclones 4

Wednesday, Aug. 4 at MCU Park

Near-perfect pitching and timely hitting ended a two-game skid and got the Cyclones back on track.

The team scored two in the first, thanks to Cory Vaughn’s RBI single.

Then the Cyclones added one in the fifth on a Blake Forsythe double, a single by newcomer Justin Schafer and a subsequent groundout.

Another run scored in the sixth when Jeff Flagg knocked in Vaughn, who had singled.

Starter Yohan Almonte was amazing, yielding just three hits in seven innings, striking out five, to win his fifth game.

The next Cyclones home game is tonight at 7 pm against the Batavia Muckdogs at MCU Park [1904 Surf Ave. at W. 19th Street in Coney Island, (718) 449-8497]. For info, visit
