Park Slope’s favorite organic restaurant has changed owners, but its mission is intact.
Organic Heights underwent a metamorphosis over the recent holiday, re-opening on Jan. 2 as Sun In Bloom with Amy Follette, a yoga instructor at Bikram Yoga Park Slope, and chef Eric Levinson in charge.
Follette originally wanted to open in Manhattan, but became convinced that Brooklyn is the place to be.
“There’s nothing like [Sun in Bloom] in Brooklyn,” said Follette (pictured).
Levinson promises more than just an organic eatery, but a “living foods menu.”
“For example, I make my hummus with sprouted almonds, sprouted sunflower seeds, and zucchini,” he said.
The menu certainly is playful, with a sunflower-and-cabbage veggie patty known as the “Bloom Burger” (mayoral pun intended). And, of course, you can “create your own miso” or enjoy an “inspirational macro journey bowl.”
It’s a journey as near as Bergen Street.
