A controversial e-mail from a Satmar Hasidic rabbi that urged opponents to vote down a divisive Williamsburg development project may have been fabricated!

Rabbi David Niederman — and dozens of supporters — blasted our online story on Friday that Niederman, a prominent leader of the Zalmanite faction, had sent an e-mail telling his fellow Community Board members that “we have to stop the Rose Plaza proposal” on the grounds that “it would be a major boost” for developer Isack Rosenberg’s Aronite charity, the Central Jewish Council.

The Central Jewish Council competes against Niederman’s United Jewish Organization for government financing.

But regardless, Niederman said, the e-mail was a complete fabrication — created by someone who wanted to cast doubt on Niederman’s opposition to the Rose Plaza project, which initially called for 801 units — 20 percent of which were below-market rent and none of which were larger than two-bedrooms.

“Whoever did this wanted to trick people into thinking that the issues that I was concerned about — affordable housing and the size of the apartment units — was just a smokescreen and that I really opposed the project because I’m a Zali and Rosenberg is an Aroni.”

All eyes are on board member David Weinstock, who claims he received Niederman’s e-mail in Dec. 3.

On Friday, Weinstock stuck to his story — and denied creating the toxic missive.

“I got the e-mail,” he said. “I guess I got it by mistake. They’re out to destroy [Rosenberg], demolish him and punish him, to deprive him from the right to make money [on the Rose Plaza Project] because he is not with them.”

Although the e-mail’s authorship remains in doubt, the controversy over its existence shed new light on the fissure inside Williamsburg’s largest Hasidic community — which split four years ago in a power struggle between the late Satmar Grand Rebbe’s two surviving brothers, Aron and Zalman Teitelbaum.

Rosenberg, one of the primary financial backers of the Aronite clan, has wanted to turn his Certified Lumber site on Kent and Division avenues into the mixed use complex. But with Niederman leading the fight, the proposal ran into opposition from Community Board 1, Borough President Markowitz and Councilman Steve Levin (D-Williamsburg).

Niederman’s fight to add more below-market-rate units and add more family-sized units eventually won the day, and the project now includes 30 percent affordable units, plus dozens of three- and four-bedroom apartments.

As a result, the Council approved the proposal on Wednesday by a vote of 47-1.

The candidate from Williamsburg says:

lets stop doing what we do right now, the media is looking for David Niederman to respond if he did or didn't send an E-mail that's in question.

We all know via and interview for a Jewish magazine, that he has 3 cell phones, 2 blackberry's and 15 landlines, we don't need Simon Wiselhead (Travel agent) or the unlicensed plumber Abe Deutch to respond, its that simple.

"If you want to know how stupid a person can be" the answer is" as stupid as Niederman

Dav from williamsburg says:
For those schmucks who have no idea how to respond only to attack Aaron, that he is being paid by UJcare and an enemy of Vito Lopez, the fact is that Aaron endorsed Steve Levin for City Council in the 33rd district against Isaac Abraham and the UJcare

Saul P from willi says:
The Zalmanites sent around a text message asking everyone to call the reporter and the editor of the Brooklyn Paper to remove the article because it shames Niederman, this just proofs that this is a political fight and the whole opposition from Niederman had nothing to do with Affordable Housing!!

GS says:
No text went around.
An email was fabricated. Do you want to fabricate a text??

to the Candidate of Wmsbg.

Niederman is above that, than to answer a fabrication.
Coward, come into the UJO not only to ask assistance for your family such as Insurance and other help. Show your face and ask the question.

It was proven fake and reported, Does it bother you?? We all knew David Weinstock fabricated from begining on.It took a while for the Brooklyn Paper directors to look into .

" Looks like this Niderman is full of politics. & Weiser is his puppy!!! I mean I can understand how people are so blind to see that the whole issue here is only politics. Didn't rosenberg promised 30% a week ago & Niderman wasn't happy & ask for 40%? (I saw that in the brooklyn eagle). As I saw yesterday that Levin was already tied so he had no other choice just to join the winners & vote for it.

Its a shame to see the jewish people in my neighborhood fighting like this (to me they always say that they don't fight only in the shul, but now it was in counsil!) "

Joel from Williamsburg says:
As the spiritual leader for all the Jewish world and particular satmar I can unequivocally state that David Weistock did NOT fabricate the email and David Niederman DID send the email.

Now on a realistic level, its so stupid to even think that Niederman sent to David Weinstock the pioneer of CJC the email, for one, CJC has been of the radar for a long time, UJCare is the political arm for the Aronites and common sense dictates that Niederman would have called out UJCare and not CJC.

The only reason the email refers to CJC is because "co-incidently" David Weinstock is a founding member and director of CJC and has no role in UJCare.

What a convenient co-incidence for Mr. Weinstock.

BTW, Message to Mr. Weinstock, CJC as a threat to UJO exists only in your head/fantasy, UJCare has long overtaken CJC. Make a google search on UJCare and CJC and see the results for yourself.

Joel from Williamsburg says:
Message to Mr. Abraham,
You have ceased to exist as a community leader and spokesperson for Williamsburg in the last election. Stupidly you put yourself up for a vote and the community rejected you and as such whatever credibility you might have had has been lost. You have established yourself as a spokesperson for a small minority of the Williamsburg community. You are as irelevant as CJC and the loosers who try to bring down Niederman/UJO by fabricating a stupid email and get out some mileage for a weekend of press coverage.

Your time has passed, you had your chance and blew now don't be a sore looser just live with the consequances.

Moshe Duvid from Williamsburg says:
smells like a real rat, looks like the million dollar offer by Weiser is being funded by Vito Lopez, who's probably using it as another non-profit expense, like he did in his ridgewood bushwick senior citizen center where his aide was recently charged with falsifing documents - or from the corrupt Brooklyn Democratic Party he heads - maybe he found Clarence Norman's wallet.....

After posting that David Weinstock is the one who received the email, its needless to come up with more evidence that this is a total fabrication,

Niederman can't take any heat, he messed up, sent out the e-mail to the wrong person and now his cronies are all over the place defending him, calling the editor 300 times, if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen!
