Two stars from this year’s Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning drama, “The Wrestler,” starring Mickey Rourke in an historic comeback role, will square off in the ring at the St. Athanasius parish auditorium, 6120 Bay Parkway, Saturday night, May 16.

The fundraiser for the St. Athanasius Youth Program pits Danny Inferno, a 17-year veteran and product of WWE’s Developmental territories, against Judas Young, an 11-year veteran trained by the late Ted Petty (better known as “Flyboy” Rocco Rock of Public Enemy fame), former best friends whose feud started over their roles in the film.

Over the past year and a half, the two have fought tooth and nail and pillar to post all over the Northeast. The feud that has set crowds on fire and awakened the wrestling world will now invade the city that never sleeps!

Also on May 16, WWE Legend Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake will be in the house to take on long time Independent Wrestling standout, “Mr. Personality” Nick Nice. You can bet Beefcake will have his scissors and is looking for some hair to cut! “Mr. Personality” better be nice to “The Barber!”

Additionally, longtime WWE Superstar Nunzio is coming to St. Athanasius and he’s bringing his specialty match, The Three Way Dance, with him. For years Nunzio wrestled in the now defunct ECW and his matches with Yoshihiro Tajiri and Super Crazy stole shows around the country. Now he’s looking to do the same in Brooklyn when he goes toe to toe with another former ECW & WWE Superstar, Danny Doring and International Superstar Josh Daniels.

Former WCW Star Crowbar is also set to battle former ECW & TNA Star Julio Dinero with the lovely Miss Michelle by his side. Miss Michelle better watch what she does at ringside around the unpredictable Crowbar. This one is bound to bring down the house.

Also in action, May 16, two of the most talented youngsters on the East Coast will butt heads in a match that promises to deliver. Brooklyn’s own Donnie Johnson and CK Kross have nothing to lose and everything to prove on May 16.

Also appearing: Kodiak Bear, Flash, The Playas Club and much, much more.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 each and are available at the St. Athanasius Rectory. Tickets will also be sold at the door and alcohol will be served for those 21 and over.
