Holy critters!

A local house of worship morphed into an altar for four-legged parishioners as the annual blessing of the animals got underway at Bay Ridge United Church.

The benediction %u2013 in honor of St. Francis of Assisi %u2013 drew pet owners to the church at Bay Ridge Parkway and 6th Avenue, where Rev. Jane Donnelly delivered the divine rites.

The bestial congregation included an assortment of dogs, cats, birds and other lovables, who were anointed in tribute to the patron saint of animals, who also founded the Order of Friars Minor, better known as the Franciscans.
