Local notables were rewarded with plaudits and words of appreciation when the East 49th and East 48th Street Block Association held an awards reception at Fellowship Hall.

Awardees, including members of the association’s Executive Board, were hailed for their service to the close−knit community during a program of tribute at the place of worship and assembly, Schenectady Avenue, between Linden Boulevard and Lenox Road.

Honorees included: State Senators John Sampson and Eric Adams; Deputy Inspector Corey Pegues, commanding officer of the 67th Precinct; Patricia Reddock, president, 67th Precinct Community Council; Officer Malissie Reynolds, 67th Precinct; and block members Ruth Lashley, Vivian Boyle, Vera Hinds and Valentine Perrin LsSauter.
