Classes will be starting for Bay Ridge residents to join Bethlehem Lutheran Church, one of Brooklyn’s most active and growing Lutheran churches.

The opportunity is open to anyone wishing to become a Lutheran or transfer membership from their current church. The sessions will be held at 9 a.m. on three consecutive Sunday mornings: June 7, 14 and the final class on New Member Sunday, June 21.

“We offer a traditional Christian service that welcomes all,” said Rev. Paul H. Knudsen. According to Rev. Knudsen, while many churches in the borough have been shrinking, Bethlehem’s weekly attendance is up dramatically.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church is located at 440 Ovington Avenue on the corner of Fourth & Ovington avenues and is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Its services are held Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
