A 12−year−old boy was left in a coma Thursday after he was clipped by an SUV on his way to school.

As this paper went to press, the unidentified chid was crossing East 17th Street near Avenue S across from Cunningham Junior High School at 7:40 am on May 14 when he was struck.

Witnesses believe that the child hit his head when he fell.

He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was reportedly put in a medically induced coma. Doctors also mended a broken leg.

The child was still in the hospital this past weekend.
