Heartbreaking memories drew survivors to a community−wide Holocaust memorial ceremony service at the Kings Bay Y.

The Yom Hashoah program featured a candle−lighting procession in memory of the six million Jews and other victims killed during the Nazi horrors of World War II.

John Ranz, chairperson of Survivors of Buchenwald, and author of “Inhumanity: Death March to Buchenwald and The Last Jews of Bendzin,” was the guest speaker.

The annual commemoration was presented by the Jewish Community Council of Kings Bay, and the Kings Bay Y, 3495 Nostrand Avenue.
