So long, DUMBO. Hello, “Metrotech.”

On Friday, The Brooklyn Paper packed up its office and headed to the Metrotech complex in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.

All week, the staff packed up our valuables (including boxes upon boxes of awards and honors, photo right) in preparation for our departure from the office that has been our home since our move from Court Street in 2004.

Starting Monday, The Brooklyn Paper will be happily ensconsed in Metrotech, where our colleagues in the News Corporation-owned Community Newpaper Group were waiting for us.

Here’s our new contact information:

Eazy D from Sheepshead Bay says:
Hey Gersh, did Steve Witt give you a hug when you arrived or offer to let you borrow his bike which has no brakes?
I believe Norman is reporting on his atlantic yards report blog that Ratner has exclusive hugging rights to Steve. Norman will later report on how the media failed to follow this.

Brian from Crown Heights says:
Gersh Kuntzman, 2006: "Brooklyn needs us too much right now, what with local papers being snapped up by billionaire moguls who have no interest in local news except maximizing classified ad sales. Has Rupert Murdoch even BEEN to Brooklyn? His reporters don't know the territory, either."

Gersh Kuntzman, 2009: "We're very excited."
