Can’t nab the hearthside table? Play darts or shoot some pool (free on weekend afternoons) while you wait.

Black Mountain Wine House

At this rustic chalet, regulars know to nab a spot in the back left-hand corner by the fire. A glass of Muscat or tawny port completes the scene.

Camp

The burning fire and mouthwatering S’mores at this lodge-like watering hole might have you thinking you’re back at Camp Saginaw (except the hot chocolate here is spiked with crème de menthe — ooh, nice touch).

Casa Pepe

114 Bay Ridge Ave. near Colonial Road in Bay Ridge, (718) 833-8865.

The fireplace at this charming Spanish/Mexican restaurant is located in an enclosed garden room that takes its inspiration from the port city of Veracruz. Order a glass of the house sangria (made with tequila — another nice touch) and you’re halfway there.

Clover Club

A hot apple brandy is just the thing to warm your cockles by the fire in the back room of Julie Reiner’s old-fashioned cocktail lounge. If you’ve got a posse, a bowl of their homemade harvest punch is a worthy alternative.

The Pearl Room

No need to jockey for a prime real estate: The gas fireplace at Chef Anthony Rinaldi’s stellar seafood spot is visible from nearly every seat in the main room.

Sheep Station

149 Fourth Ave. at Douglass Street in Park Slope, (718) 857-4337.

You’ll find plenty of Aussie expats at this Down Under pub, as well as savory meat pies, sports on the big-screen TVs and a roaring fire in the back.
