Eleven local notables were up for honors when the West Indian American Progressive Action Council held its annual dinner and award ceremony at Glen Terrace.

The plaudits marked a program of tribute at the catering facility, 5313 Avenue N.

The honorees were: Drs. Rev. Evelyn John and Wenton Fyne, and Pastor Roger Weller, “Outstanding Ministerial Award”; Roger V. Archibald and Donald Vernon, “Outstanding Barrister”; Patricia Romain and Donovan Wilson, “Outstanding Community Service”; Robert “Bobby” Clarke, “Media Service”; Mark Lewis and Debbie Tiamfook, “Business Leadership”; and Dr. Albert Douglas, “Outstanding Health Service.”
