State Senator Marty Golden expressed his support for local businesses when he attended the grand opening of the Dyker Heights family-owned operation Sarta Realty.
The 22nd Senate District legislator congratulated the Sarta and DiAngelis families on “brave entrepreneurship during a tough economic time.”
Father Guy Sbordone of St. Dominic’s parish led the festivities with a blessing and a prayer, while friends, family, and other neighborhood businesses congratulated the new kid on the block.
“Many families these days see the glass half empty,” said the senator, “but this family…has come to see the glass [as] half full.”
Though optimism played a large part, the Sarta family has entrepreneurship in their blood. Patriarch Gino Sarta has been running a successful steel business for more than 30 years, while son Dominick Sarta has been a real estate developer for over 11. Other Sarta family members have years of experience in real estate sales as well.
Combining all of the family’s talents, Sarta Realty, at 7317 13th Avenue, offers homes and commercial spaces for sale and rent along with contracting, architectural design, home inspection, and financing services in Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, Rockaway, Manhattan, and even Florida.
“We aimed to take all of our skills and offer affordable services to people in the neighborhood and beyond,” said Gino Sarta, “but really…the joy is being able to work with my children and, hopefully, one day with my grandchildren.”
The senator complimented the Sartas and DiAngelises for keeping the trade alive in the family, as he performed the ribbon cutting alongside Sarta’s grandchildren, what the senator called “the next generation of real estate.”
