The longest day of the year provided a local group with reason enough to nurture the community with a family-friendly eco-fest in Bay Ridge.

Seasoned environmentalists joined budding ecologists to celebrate the summer solstice with a “Greening the Ridge” festival, presented by the Sunset-Ridge Waterfront Alliance at the 69th Street Veteran’s Memorial Pier.

The all-day showcase of all things green featured educational and instructional booths, plus music and activities, designed to help inspire and cultivate green communities.
