To The Editor:

Re: “‘Summit’ needs to call for black attitude change,” A Britisher’s View, by Shavana Abruzzo, 6/12 issue.

I’m really tired of people, who may not have grown up in the US, making blanket statements about really ugly problems they, obviously, haven’t taken the time to research, or try to understand.

It is quite apparent that Shavana Abruzzo is carrying some kind of boulder on her shoulder regarding Al Sharpton, as well.

The sadness in her otherwise insensitive article is that she should be writing about white-on-white crime, ineffective government on minorities period and asking for assistance from people like Sharpton, Butts, Dr. H.L. Gates and Dr. Cornell West to really bring her up to speed on the unfortunate racial dynamic in this country that persists and, in fact, is sadly fueled by shallow perceptions such as hers.
