You know it’s summertime when the Hoyt Street Association holds its annual free “Stories in the Garden” series, every Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m., now to July 31 at the Hoyt Street Garden, corner of Hoyt Street and Atlantic Avenue.

Volunteers will read their favorite stories to children and parents, and free lemonade and cookies will be served for both members of the audience and passersby.

The remainder of the schedule is as follows: Ken Lowstetter and Eve Martinez, July 3; Vren Powell and Stefanie Dworkin, July 10; Trudy Whitman, Candace Woodward and Olivia Casey, July 17; John Macrae (yet to be confirmed) and Graciela Carrique of Musica Para Mi, July 24; and Betty Feibusch and Joe Hays, July 31.
