red Astaire and Ginger Rogers danced together in 10 films and into movie history. Film historian Phillip Harwood will present film clips of legendary performances by Astaire and Rogers and he will take you behind the scenes of movies such as “Top Hat,” “Swing Time,” and “Shall We Dance.”

All are welcome to attend this Heights and Hill Community Council Speaker event, June 19 at 2 p.m. at the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street (at Clinton Street), as part of the monthly Speaker Series for Seniors.

Harwood has developed and presented lectures on such classics as “The Jolson Story,” “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “The Jazz Singer”; on films of the 1940s; Hollywood musical icons; historical epic silent comedy films of Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton and much more.
