Moms and grandmas were fêted in style as the Remsen Senior Center – 650 Remsen Avenue – hosted its first Mothers Day luncheon, featuring a mélange of food, poetry and an outpouring of tributes in honor of Dear Old Ma.

After a sumptuous feast of baked chicken, string beans and rice, the seniors were entertained one another with poems and tributes, including the evening’s show stopper, The Hat Show.

Among those in attendance were Lloyd Mills, chairperson and Sherif Fraser, district manager of Community Board #17 and Claudette Macey, executive director, Fort Greene Senior Citizen Council.

All mothers were honored, especially those 90 older.
