A gang beat up a teenage girl after an argument turned violent on Underhill Avenue on May 30.

The 17-year-old girl was walking home from school at around 5:30 pm when at least three other kids from her class surrounded her at the corner of Lincoln Place. After starting an argument with the victim, the suspects began to punch, kick and bite her in the arms and back before running away.

Money gone

A Vanderbilt Avenue restaurant was burglarized on May 26.

The 39-year-old owner of the eatery, which is between Dean and Bergen streets, said he locked up the building at around 11 pm. When he returned early the next morning, the diner’s rear window had been shattered, and the $400 was missing from the register.
