As part of a “Performathon” to benefit the 96-year-old Brooklyn Music School Playhouse, the BMS Music and Dance departments will come together for a performance at 6 p.m., May 17.

The Youth Chorus, String Ensemble and Journey Dancers troupe will appear, in addition to more performances by the faculty and students of classical instruments and voice.

The Journey Dancers, a pre-professional company founded in 1999 for students with a strong desire to perform, can be seen at community events throughout the year and are featured annually in the school’s signature production, “A Brooklyn Nutcracker.”

Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children and students with ID.

The Brooklyn Music School Playhouse is located in Downtown Brooklyn at 126 Saint Felix Street.

Registration for Summer Programs in music and dance has begun.
