Two motorists were rushed to area hospitals Saturday following a crash at the corner of Ocean Parkway and Avenue C.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed over to the noontime corner accident after a red sedan slammed into the back of a Volkswagen Beetle.

The small car, its back filled with shopping bags, vaulted a pedestrian median near the corner and slammed into a light pole, officials said.

FDNY officials said that both motorists were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Their injuries did not seem to be life threatening, they said.

The exact cause of the accident was still under investigation as this paper went to press.
