Entropy Of Art, the Kurier Plus Gallery’s First International Exhibition of Works on Paper, opens with an artists’ reception, May 9 from 7-9 p.m. at the gallery, 145 Java Street in Brooklyn. The show runs through May 30.

This exhibit features the work of many artists from many different parts of the world including Poland, Australia, South Korea, Europe, and the U.S. Besides their origin (most are of Polish heritage), these artists are unified by a shared vision of a group exposition, as well as by medium.

Paper as a medium carries with it a rich history and many different connotations. It is a common material, which in a sense defines its esthetic value. It also has a certain characteristic that affects its specific perception. This characteristic is intimacy. Because of the choice of paper as a medium, the art displayed on it becomes a part of our reality and widens the borders of its own presence through entropy.
