You might ask, "Where am I? Williamsburg?" when you enter Beet. With its bright red walls, futuristic white lamps and curvy wooden furniture, chef-owner Pasu Rodsomarng’s new Thai restaurant qualifies as the hippest eatery in Park Slope.

His menu offers the same curries, satays and noodle dishes available at Mango Thai, his popular restaurant further north with dishes divided into categories like "nice and warm," soups; "smooth and spicy," curries and noodles; and "yummy," a mix of vegetables and Thai sauces you can mix-and-match with meat and seafood.

Rodsomarng even throws in a few French-Thai touches like "seared, crusted jumbo shrimp and scallops with brown butter sauce." Thai beers, a short wine list and house cocktails like the "up Beet martini" made with citron-infused vodka, and the "raspberry kiss," a mix of sparkling wine brightened with raspberry liqueur, add to the chic ambience.

Three custards - pumpkin, Thai tea and green tea - end the meal.

The only grumble about this restaurant, which opened in October, is that beet lovers will be disappointed. The only example of the root on the menu are beet chips (served gratis as a pre-meal snack) that just don’t cut it.

Beet (344 Seventh Ave. between Ninth and 10th streets in Park Slope) accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Entrees: $7-$17. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily. Delivery available to surrounding neighborhoods. For more information, call (718) 832-2338.
