To the editor:

The type of character assassination you have engaged in without checking your facts or the reliability of your “source” makes it difficult to take The Brooklyn Papers seriously. The Community Board 2 member, Rachel Foster, who you describe as “intimidated” and “cowering” [“CB2 blows it bigtime,” Feb. 7] is not the same Community Board 2 member Rachel Foster whom I have known both personally and professionally for 17 years.

Ms. Foster has never been one to avoid difficult situations or shirk responsibilities. In fact, quite the opposite is true. She consistently shows strength and resolve in meeting challenges head on, and is not afraid to make her voice known, no matter who or how many people may disagree.

I know that Ms. Foster approaches her role as community board member both seriously and conscientiously. As a decade-long resident of the Brooklyn Heights-Cobble Hill community, I am proud to have Ms. Foster represent me, and my neighbors.
