BARGE FULL OF ’DREAMS’

This July, Friday nights will be rocking at one of the most intimate and interesting venues in all of Brooklyn. Comment

MAGICAL HANDS

July is the perfect time to visit the New York Puppet Library - a cool, bewitching space that’s actually located inside the arch in Grand Army Plaza - because Brooklyn families will be able to enjoy two charming puppet shows there this month. Comment

VARIETY SHOW

This month, CityParks Theater brings a provocative mix of productions influenced by hip-hop, prisons and yes, even Shakespeare, in its line-up of free performances in Brooklyn’s parks. Comment

NY PHILHARMONIC TO PLAY PROSPECT PARK

Most free summer concerts include music that’s either crowd-pleasing or familiar - or both. More challenging works are saved for the regular season. Comment

TOTO RECALL

There’s no place like home, especially if home is Brooklyn in the summertime. The perks include a free outdoor movie series on the bank of the East River, hosted by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, which kicks off on July 6 with "The Wizard of Oz" (pictured at left) and continues through Aug. 24. FESTIVAL ITALIANO

The annual "Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Saint Paulinus of Nola" will return to Williamsburg for the 119th year on Thursday, July 6 at 6 pm. Comment

GROOVY TUNES

Get ready to put on your dancin’ shoes as the Brooklyn Philharmonic performs at Celebrate Brooklyn on July 14. Comment

AL FRESCO DINING

Last night, I ate a hotdog on my patio. My husband grilled it on a tiny hibachi, and I served it with coleslaw purchased from the supermarket and a green salad. No offense to any of the chefs who fed me so well this winter, but it was one of the best meals I’ve had all year. Comment
