International electric-car racing series the Formula E Championship will zoom into Red Hook on July 29 and 30, bringing tens of thousands of spectators to the sleepy waterfront burg. The cars are supposed to be far quieter than their gas-guzzling Formula 1 counterparts and the race will take place off public streets at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, but we’re curious how the onslaught of onlookers will get to the subway-starve Comment
Last year, some of Brooklyn’s movers and shakers made promises to better themselves. Sure, some were just thinly veiled humble-brags, and most were ill-conceived at best, but here at Courier Life, we believe in a little thing called accountability. That reporter was Natalie Musumeci, a Brooklyn College grad who we took a chance on because of her go-get-’em attitude and outright moxie. In those halcyon days when our newsroom was stocked with talent, Musumeci hit the ground running, taking on the coveted Bay Ridge beat where she kicked a-- and took names. But she didn’t really hit her stride until she began working in her hometown, Carroll Gardens, which se did for about two weeks before being snatched by the Daily News.
