A fisherman snagged a flying seagull while casting his rod into Sheepshead Bay, but quickly freed the fowl — apparently without injuring it — on Oct. 3. It was a traumatic experience for the few who were gathered around and witnessed the bird’s pain, but as soon as the experienced angler felt a stronger-than-normal tug on his line, he jumped to his feet to rescue the little fellow and even assured the bird it would make it out alive.
